It can be really hard to find the perfect gift for the doctor you love. Last year I posted a gift guide that was chalk full of ideas. If you haven’t seen that one, take a look after you scroll through this list. There’s something for every budget – and a special discount code just for you!
1. Compression Socks
Last year I finally bit the bullet and paid for a couple of nice compression socks for Aaron. I had noticed spider veins in his feet and was really worried about the amount of time he was standing. I purchased three pair from ProCompression and he has loved them! They are very high quality and the company has excellent customer service! In fact, their customer service is so good that they have also generously offered my readers a 40% discount on EVERYTHING IN THE STORE! Just use coupon code NMM15. It is good until 12/31/2015.
2. GoPro
You have heard me previously talk about how important it is to get away together and HAVE FUN! This year, my recommendation is that you have a way to capture that fun. A GoPro camera is excellent for that! We recently used it while snorkeling and captured not only amazing images of the sea life, but also great pictures of our family. You can’t go wrong with this gift.
3. Messenger Bag
These are great to carry books, a change of clothes for when they are on call, or even a laptop. Timbuk2 brand are a favorite among doctors. It is extremely durable, classic, and easy to use when traveling.
4. Cafe Luxe Handheld Milk Frother
If you like cappuccinos, lattes, or frothy chocolate milk, this handheld frother is for you! Super quick and easy and much cheaper than constantly running into Starbucks. (If you are a hot chocolate fan, I would suggest using this handheld frother with Stevens Mint Truffle hot chocolate mix.)
5. Ninja Master Prep
If coffee or hot chocolate is not your thing and you’d rather be drinking a smoothie or a protein shake, the Ninja is a better option for you. While this is not as amazing as a Vitamix or a Blendtec, it is a close runner up for a tenth of the price. We use it almost everyday at our house. Making smoothies and salsa, chopping nuts or graham crackers, whipping eggs or cream, etc. IT has certainly made my mornings quicker and my dinners less stressful.
6. Amazon Fire Stick
We have been using ChromeCast for over a year now and have loved it. This year, we are moving to the Amazon Fire Stick because you do not have to be connected to a computer to use. Just plug this little stick into your HDMI port on your TV and you have access to several internet streaming
7. Piano Guys CDs
I love The Piano Guys! I. LOVE. THE. PIANO. GUYS. (Ok, sorry for shouting.) We listen to their CDs and watch their YouTube videos all the time around here. (If you are not familiar with Piano Guys, check them out on YouTube. I’ll bet you fall in love with the music!) If you celebrate Christmas, I would highly recommend their Christmas CD. I listen to it year round. (As a side note, these make perfect teacher, coach, neighbor, coworker gifts. I have never given it to someone who hasn’t loved it.
8. Fondue Pot
My husband lived in Switzerland for a couple of years and can make some crazy good fondue – chocolate, cheese, or meat. You name it, it’s pretty amazing at our house! We own three different fondue pots that we use for each of the different types of fondue. I have previously waxed poetic about how much I love our cheese fondue pot. This one is similar to the one he brought home with him from Switzerland. We use this fondue pot for meat fondue and have been really pleased with it. I know you can make cheese fondue in the metal pot as well, but we prefer the ceramic for cheese. The trick to great chocolate fondue is a double boiler. That’s why we use this one for chocolate. It has great reviews and comes from a respectable company. Happy Dipping!!
8. FitBit
In all honesty, I have not used a FitBit yet, but friends and family who have used them, love them. It is awesome for physicians who have such limited time to exercise and often forget to take care of their own physical health. It tracks your sleep, your steps, and your calories burned. And it syncs automatically to your computer and cell phone.
10. Kind Bars
With such little time to eat, physicians need something quick they can throw in the pocket of their white coat and eat while running to the next patient. I LOVE these KIND bars and I always purchase them through Amazon. They are cheaper than in the grocery stores . . . and they get delivered right to my door – which is a huge plus for me. I always keep several in my car and purse. The Maple Glazed Pecan and Sea Salt are my favorite.
Bonus. Selfie Stick
Confession. I am one of those people that thinks selfie sticks are silly. Until I used one that was gifted to us. Then I realized how great it was to actually take pictures with both Aaron and I in them as opposed to one of us taking a picture of the other person when we were out. This is a great way to capture #itsgoodnow moments! And, they are very inexpensive. Pick one up and wrap it with note letting your sweetheart know how excited you are to create more of those moments together.
